Born Oluwatosin Samuel in 2002, Kidd Carder learned to sing in church choirs before finding his voice in the streets of Nigeria. For years, he worked quietly, trading weekend performances for studio sessions and learning how to shape Afrobeat and Afro-fusion sounds that move young crowds. His 2025 track Calculate caught fire online, and his 2026 single Big Bum Bum featuring Mavo, later reached the top of Apple Music and Spotify Nigeria.
‘Before I Blow’ looks back at the years of practice, doubt, and steady work that came before those numbers climbed.
The EP opens with “Intro”, Kidd Carder admits he is still working toward his goals and asks for one clear chance to set things right. He has been singing since he was twelve, and that long run shows in his steady delivery. “Gobe” shifts the mood with a brighter tempo and playful lyrics about an attraction that feels almost impossible to resist. “Elevate” continues the theme of steady progress, tracking every win, studying his craft through late nights, and keeping his focus sharp while the world watches.
“Big Bum Bum” with Mavo stands out as the moment where everything clicks. The hook is simple and catchy, built for crowd response, while his verses carry both charm and street confidence. Mavo adds a smooth layer that balances the energy and keeps the song moving. The closing track, “Eye Witness,” brings things back to reality, where he talks about how quickly people switch when things slow down. Still, he stays locked in on his goals.
Speaking on the project, Kidd Carder says, “This EP is me before everything changes. It’s the work, the doubts, the hunger. I just wanted people to hear where it all started.”
‘Before I Blow’ is now available on all streaming platforms via ONErpm.
