It’s not often that an artiste reinvents himself after two decades at the top, but then again, Bien has never been just any artiste. As co-founder and lead vocalist of Africa’s most beloved boy band, Sauti Sol, Bien has already etched his name into music history with a GRAMMY win and countless accolades. But in 2023, he stepped boldly into uncharted territory with his debut solo album “Alusa, Why Are You Topless?”, a project that signalled not just a new era, but a new voice.
Now in 2025, fresh off the success of his April single “Safari” featuring Suldaan Seeraar, Bien returns with what may be his most spiritually charged release yet: “All My Enemies,” an Afro-Gospel-meets-Triumph-Afropop record that is as much a prayer as it is a prophecy.
From the first beat, a fusion of percussive Afro-fusion drums, atmospheric synths, and gospel-tinged chants, “All My Enemies” pulses with energy and conviction. Bien declares, “All my enemies are suffering… their plans have scattered” Repeated like mantras, these words build into a chorus that feels like a battle cry turned melody.
The song draws deeply from scripture, with Bien referencing Psalm 23:5 in the line “Prepare a table for me right before my enemies.” It’s a nod to divine vindication, a celebration in the face of opposition.
As the track progresses, Bien enters visionary mode. “I see the stars align / When I see my enemies I shoot on sight…” These are affirmations of destiny. He knows who he is, where he’s going, and that no force can dim his light. Even when betrayal comes cloaked in friendship, “They Judas me / Trynna kiss me on my cheek”, Bien responds with poetic clarity and spiritual grit.
The outro becomes a kind of sonic exorcism, “Suffering… scatter scatter…”, echoing like a final decree over every obstacle standing between him and his purpose.
“All My Enemies” is out on all streaming platforms.
