On the Official Nigeria Top 100, “Awolowo” has peaked at No. 6, and is currently spending its sixth week on the chart including the last three weeks in the top 10. It’s no exaggeration that Fido’s style of music is new, unique and resonating. This has earned Fido’s managers, Olamide Abimbola and Caleb Oyolola, the executives of the week title. They’re also the co-founders of Inner Circle Entertainment, a talent management company.

In this exclusive interview with TurnTable, Bimbogram sheds light on the process behind “Awolowo”, his experience working with Fido, and upcoming projects from the artiste.

TTC: Hello, kindly introduce yourself, your role in Fido’s team

BIMBOGRAM: My name is Olamide Abimbola also known as Bimbogram. I’m Fido’s manager. Fido’s management comprises two managers, that is, my partner, Caleb and I. We both co-founded Inner Circle Entertainment.

TTC: Fido’s “Awolowo” peaked at No. 6 on the Official Nigeria Top 100. Can you walk us through the creative process behind the hit song?

BIMBOGRAM: From my knowledge, Fido recorded “Awolowo” with Iyke, the producer. It was a three-day setup and Fido recorded this track on the last day. Iyke played an incomplete beat and once Fido heard it, he was ready to work and round up the session with it. Iyke briefly went out to clear his head. There’s a part where Fido said, “leave am leave am”, that was when Iyke returned from the break. It was a calm setting. Caleb was present as well as we’re both involved in managing Fido.

TTC: What do you think sets Fido apart from other artistes? How does this further shape his career trajectory?

BIMBOGRAM: Sometimes when you listen to music, you can tell there’s a difference and that’s the same for Fido. I could tell he was different from the first time I heard him. Aside from the music aspect, Fido has a striking personality as well as his consciousness as an artiste and as a brand. Very high level of self-consciousness. All this is what my co-founder and I took in that made us decide to work with Fido.

TTC: This is a significant achievement for Fido and the team. What was your role in driving the success and pushing this song?

BIMBOGRAM: It was a collaborative effort with my partner, Caleb. Our roles majorly involved marketing and the rollout. For the distribution, CiDAR Africa, a distribution company I also co-founded, worked with that.

TTC: Are there any other upcoming projects should we keep an eye out for from Fido? Perhaps a remix for “Awolowo”?

BIMBOGRAM: Well, in terms of upcoming collaborations and projects, Fido has a remix coming soon and I'll add that there are multiple remixes. Also, an upcoming single in November.
